alright, goddammit!

okay you dudes are geniuses

so 1. i need a website. a couple of you have offered to help. if you're still down that rules. just let me know what to do. also how much is this going to cost me?!

2. anyone want to help me edit time for some stories? basically i need names changed and mistakes fixed. i can offer you vast sums of non-existant money. if a book is made and it actually sells i will pay you a handsome sum comprising of whatever it is editors make plus enormous bonuses, the likes of which you've never seen. plus if this actually turns into a book you can suddenly say you're an editor and command respect or whatever. it would help if your grasp of the english language is somewhat tenable, because lord knows mine isn't

any takers?!!? i think there have to be about 30+ stories, although i might be wrong on that. maybe like 50 pages of material?! i actually don't know if there's even a book's worth of stuff.

i can give you web hosting for almost free and i would love to read through your stories changing names. i think you can make a 100 page book out of your stories if you add in your zines. buuuuut i'm not going to help you find an agent or a publisher...

I'd be willing to give things a once-over (maybe even a twice-over). I love your stories, and this would be an excellent excuse to re-read them with a veneer of professionalism. And I'm a decent nitpicker, so I'd target typos and style errors with extreme prejudice.

You can contact me at jmag117 [at] gmail [dot] com.

I could maybe help out with a website, depending on what you want and how much time I've got - I'd definitely be down for just throwing ideas around until we come up with a good site idea (unless you've already got one). Not sure what else I could do, though, but I'll be here to help!

Hey Dave,

My buddy is creating a self publishing website that's pretty much out of its beta stage:

www.fastpencil.com

Perhaps you can check it out to get your work published. I'd be willing to help edit and what not. I also can do webpaging although i think you're doing a fine job as is with the stuff floating around. It's more awesome that way.

email for further discussion?

Alan

OKAY!!

thank you guys! seriously! if i haven't emailed you yet it's because i've been busy with other stuff. i think we definitely have more than enough editors willing to help out now which is awesome! i hope this doesn't sound unfair, but i think having more than like 4 or 5 people editing/helping out with stories will be confusing, so i think we have enough editing help at this point.

dude who does graphic design, i will def contact you as well

okay so look, adam emailed me with a website at public.me.com that unfortunately i can't access at work

SO - can someone do this for me (i have super restricted access to stuff at work), go to docs.google.com and just sign up a new account (like tffs or something) and make the password like tffs1 for now

then i should be able to access that at work, i can dump in two or three 'test stories'

then you dudes can log in also and comb over this

rhaomi, marie, katrinfrink you all seem to know what you're doing for editing. there's this other dude bill who wrote me and seems to know what's up.

avery, joey, you guys seem to know web stuff, maybe you guys can eventually help me get a clear website where people can access all of these stories

alan, fastpencil.com is blocked at work but i will check it out

charlie, i am sure graphic design will come in useful. if this thing ever makes money i will pay you. all of you.

fgsddfg - i think we're good at this point for editors, but thank you very much for the help!

i emailed some other people about this, so i need to get that together as well

okay for now just someone make an account at googledocs and post a comment here when it's done. i don't think it'll be the end of the world if the password is public for now, i'll change it and send you all an email with the new password in a day or two

Hey Dave,

I don't think making a shared account for this project is a good idea. Google Docs has great collaborative tools designed for multiple user accounts, but I'm not sure about how it handles several people editing the same document at the same time using the same account. There could be conflicts saving and whatnot.

Since you have a Gmail address, you automatically have a Google Docs account. You should be able to access it by going to docs.google.com, though you might have to activate it if it's the first time you've used it.

Anyway, the best thing to do is to upload the documents to your Google Docs account, then invite us to edit them via the Google Docs interface. Here's how to invite people. If you can't access Google Docs at work, I'd advise doing it when you get home. It'll be worth the wait -- inviting us to collaborate on your documents will work out much more smoothly in the long run than having everybody share the same account.

PS: I tried signing up for a Google Docs account using your Gmail address (both the davesecretary one and the one you emailed us with), but both times it said the account already existed. So you definitely already have a Google Docs account attached to your Gmail address.
